Job Title: Advanced Practice Provider ICUWe are seeking a highly skilled Advanced Practice Provider to join our ICU team at University Hospitals. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical expertise and excellent communication skills to provide exceptional patient care.Job SummaryThe Advanced Practice Provider will work in collaboration with attending physicians to provide 24/7/365 medical and surgical management for critical-care services. This includes managing the comprehensive care of acutely and chronically critically ill or injured adult patients.Key Responsibilities

• Partners with attending physicians to provide critical-care services, including airway management, ventilator management, and invasive procedures.
• Responds to full trauma activations in the ED and transfers patients to higher levels of care as needed.
• Selection, implementation, management, and titration of vasoactive drugs, insulin infusions, sedation, and analgesia.
• Collaborates with respiratory therapists to manage ventilator and non-invasive positive pressure ventilation modalities.
• Performs central lines, peripherally inserted central catheters (PICC lines), mid-lines, arterial lines, tube thoracostomy, dialysis catheters, cooling catheters, and various urinary catheters as indicated.Requirements
  • Demonstrated competence as a practitioner with effective oral and written communication skills.
  • A variety of technical patient care devices specific to the clinical area.
  • Computers and selected office equipment.Education/ExpertiseNurse Practitioner: Nursing Doctorate or Master of Science in Nursing with emphasis on clinical practice.Physician Assistant: Completion of a formal Physician Assistant training from an accredited program with NCCPA certification.Required Credentials, Licensure or Certification
    • Nurse Practitioner: BLS required; ACLS preferred; Current Registered Nurse license to practice in Ohio; Current APRN license to practice in Ohio.
    • Physician Assistant: BLS required; ACLS preferred; NCCPA-Certified; DEA license
